We've got some great news for auto lovers, the new McLaren P1 GTR is finally here. It may have a different name but we still feel the notes of the popular, so called legend-McLaren F1, and it's a good thing considering it was built in homage of this model. It's official name is McLaren P1 LM, and it's the perfect chosen hypercar to praise an honor for the previous model, because every element of it shares some past memories of F1.
The delicate work of Lanzante is felt in every detail, you can see from the pictures that the old F1 GTR has many things in common with this new super car. The main reason of rebuilding the model was the Le Mans victory in 1995, it was such an important event that needs to be remembered. Lanzante wanted to assure us that the model will be the quickest, rarest and last of the P1 variants. First of all needs to be noticed that it's 60kg lighter, which mean it'll go faster. Just as F1 the vehicle has some gold plating in the engine bay, the powertrain is a mixture of 3,8-litre twin-turbo V8 and electric motors. The aerodynamics got better, the rear wing and a larger front splitter are made to ensure there is a 40 per cent increase in downforce over the P1 GTR.
There's a lot of carbon too, a fully exposed carbon roof and carbon aplenty inside, actually. It comes with standard air conditioning, and a unique Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel. The model will cost around a few millions, but who cares of that when Lanzante models have always been popular and wanted? Five super cars will make their way to owners, 4 of them will be orange and only one grey.
